2020 golf outing is canceled

It is with more than a little regret, to say nothing of a tinge of sadness, that we have to announce that the Ohio State University Alumni Club of Charleston’s golf outing and fundraiser will not be held this year.

In the end, and as much as we tried, we could not overcome the COVID-19 virus that has overwhelmed the country. It is our intent to come back bigger and better than ever next May.

It is impossible to overstate how much he club appreciates every player and sponsor who signed up, and we hope that when we come calling again early next year, each of you will come back. From our first outing in 2017 we have grown each year, and with your help we will continue that climb in 2021.

It’s important to remember why we have this outing: to raise money for scholarships for Lowcountry students who attend Ohio State. This is the club’s biggest single fundraising event, and with the cost of tuition, room, board and books approaching a mind-numbing $40,000 annually for out-of-state students, any assistance we can give them helps ease the financial burden.

Thank you again for your support, and we hope to see everyone again in 2021.
