The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Charleston, SC held its annual oyster roast on Sunday, Feb. 24 at The Wreck of the Richard and Charlene along Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant, SC.
The dock, with shrimp boats tied alongside, provided a perfect setting for one of our annual special events.
The morning dawned threatening with rain and windy conditions. As the starting time approached though, the bad weather pushed out to sea, the gusty wind changed to a warm breeze and the sun even peeked through the clouds.
Local Buckeyes, joined by longtime friends from Georgia and a number of former local members, enjoyed a pleasant afternoon sampling local oysters, known for their slightly salty taste, chili and hotdogs along with their favorite beverage (a BYOB event). As the afternoon proceeded, Buckeyes renewed old friendships and developed new ones.
